NEW YORK -- Cruise Line International Association is sending
cruise directors and other representatives on the road in February
for a media tour as part of National Cruise Vacation Month. The
message is that cruises are an affordable family vacation
alternative.
In conjunction with the promotion, CLIA is launching its eighth
annual Travel Agency Promotion Contest, which awards two grand
prizes of $5,000 to CLIA affiliated agencies that demonstrate
innovative cruise promotions. Four first-place winners will receive
$1,000, and 10 runners-up will receive $100 each.
CLIA also launched its 1998 agent training program on Jan. 12,
with classes to be offered in 60 cities through March.
