CLIA inks deal with Pegasus Solutions

NEW YORK -- Cruise Lines International Association inked an agreement with Pegasus Solutions, the industry's largest hotel commission consolidator, enabling non-ARC, CLIA-affiliated agencies to receive hotel commissions from Pegasus.

CLIA's non-ARC agencies were automatically enrolled in a free 90-day trial period on July 1, while CLIA's ARC agencies may enroll in the trial period between through Sept. 30, with the 90-day period beginning the day of enrollment.

Agencies electing to remain in the program after the trial period pay a discounted fee negotiated by CLIA to continue with the service. The agreement demonstrates that Pegasus "recognizes the buying power and influence that CLIA-affiliated travel agents exert in the leisure market," said Jim Godsman, CLIA's president.

CLIA recently established partnerships with several hotel and car-rental suppliers that enable their reservation and commission-processing systems to recognize CLIA affiliates through their CLIA membership numbers.
