Carnival Cruise
Lines has agreed to a contract extension for the Carnival Pride to continue
sailing from Baltimore through 2018.
The agreement also has three one-year
options to further extend Carnival’s Baltimore departures.
The Carnival Pride
began sailing a year-round cruise schedule from Baltimore in 2009.
The ship left Maryland in the fall of 2014 and returned in March 2015
after a renovation that included new dining and entertainment options as well
as new emissions-control equipment.
In 2015,
nearly 200,000 passengers sailed on 90 cruises from the port. The Carnival Pride sails year-round cruises of five to 13 days to the Caribbean.
Royal Caribbean
International also sails from Baltimore. In April, the line extended its contract to
continue sailing the Grandeur of the Seas there through June 2020.
