Carnival Cruise Line has completed a series of updates to its Bahamian destination, RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay.

There are new beach amenities -- complimentary loungers and umbrellas and reservable daybeds and cabanas -- plus new and upgraded food and drink venues on the island: Orchid Beach Grill, Hibiscus Beach Grill, Luna Tide Beach Bar, Stay Awhile Beach Shack and Lil' Tiki Bar. Carnival said they offer a variety of island-style meals, buffets and beverages in shaded areas.

A new tram service is available to navigate the island, and there's a new pedestrian walkway called Papaya Pathway.

A new pier at the destination enables Carnival's Excel-class ships to dock at Half Moon Cay for the first time.

Carnival held a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the completed updates.

On the south side of Half Moon Cay, where Holland America Line guests visit, other updates are underway. Holland America opened four pickleball courts there over the winter.
