The Celebrity Edge, a ship due in December 2018, will have a
meeting venue called The Meeting Place in a central location on the ship.
The 1,970-square foot room will have soundproof dividers,
advanced audiovisual capabilities, varied seating options, private office space
for event planners, dynamic mobile bars set up for food and beverages, and a fully
equipped pantry with a bar.
The room can be used for conferences, trade shows, weddings and
reunions, said Dondra Ritzenthaler, Celebrity's senior vice president of sales,
trade support and service.
In addition to audiovisual systems -- from wireless
microphones to a mini sound board -- there will be an electronic whiteboard
along with 98-inch and 75-inch LED screens.
Scott Butler, founding partner of Wilson Butler Architects,
which designed the venue, said its look is more like a hip lounge than a
conference room.
"The flexibility and functionality of a 'state of the
art' meeting space was designed for pleasure first," Butler said.
