Japanese chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa will
partner with Crystal Cruises to put two restaurants on the Crystal
Symphony, scheduled to debut in March.
Silk Road and The
Sushi Bar will open on the Symphony's March 3 trans-Pacific cruise
from Los Angeles to Hong Kong.
Crystal said that
Matsuhisa will join the ship in March to oversee the
launch.
The deal expands
Crystal's partnership with Matsuhisa, who put a restaurant on the
line's other ship, the Crystal Serenity, in 2003.
Matsuhisa, who is
best known for the two dozen Nobu restaurants around the world,
will place Nobu-trained chefs and offer Nobu's most popular
specialties on the Symphony.
The restaurants
will occupy the former Jade Garden space, and will accommodate a
total of 68 guests, who will not have to pay an additional charge
to go to the venues. Reservations will be recommended for the Silk
Road, while the Sushi Bar will be open on a first come, first
served basis, Crystal said.
