Cunard has added a block containing the aft lido sundeck to its ship the Queen Victoria as part of a $40 million refurbishment underway in Italy.

In addition to the sundeck, the block has 30 new cabins that will raise the double-occupancy capacity from 2,021 to 2,081 passengers.

Fincantieri’s shipyard in Palermo started the work on May 5 and is scheduled to finish June 4.

The 30 additional staterooms will be Britannia cabins. Existing Britannia Club cabins will be moved to a midship area where there will be 43 Britannia Club cabins in a configuration similar to Cunard's Queen Elizabeth.
