Cunard line will name its next ship the Queen Anne, which is scheduled to debut in early 2024.

The ship will be the 249th for the storied British line and Cunard's first since the Queen Elizabeth entered service in 2010. The Queen Anne was originally supposed to join the fleet this year but has been delayed by the pandemic.

When it enters service, the Queen Anne will introduce an updated Cunard livery. Its maiden season opens for sale in May.

The news comes on top of what Cunard said were its 'strongest bookings in a decade' over the last week for summer 2023 sales, which opened in February.

During the first two days of February, Cunard said it had "record-breaking sales" and revenue.

"We are thrilled by the robust response to our recently announced summer 2023 voyage program, which has surpassed our record-breaking sales in 2021 when Queen Elizabeth's summer sailings became available to book," said Jamie Paiko, vice president of sales for Cunard North America.

Cunard said its two strongest booking periods of the last decade happened over the last 12 months of the pandemic.

Cunard's 2023 schedule includes 150 sailings calling at 120 ports.
