The Icon of the Seas is coming to Galveston in 2027

Royal Caribbean for the first time will base an Icon-class ship in Galveston. Starting in August 2027, the Icon of the Seas will sail from the Texas port.

The 7,600-passenger ship will do six- to eight-night eastern and western Caribbean cruises that call at Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas, Roatan and Cozumel, where guests can visit the Royal Beach Club Cozumel, which is due to open in late 2026. 

Bookings open Nov. 13.

The Liberty and Symphony of the Seas will also sail from Galveston in 2027. Beginning in April, the Liberty will do four- to eight-night sailings. The ship is getting new features in 2026, including an escape room and a reimagined pool deck with the Lime & Coconut bar and casitas for rent.

The Oasis-class Symphony of the Seas will homeport in Texas for the first time, starting April 2027, doing four- to eight-night Caribbean vacations to Nassau, where guests can do a beach day at the Royal Beach Club Paradise Island. Perfect Day at CocoCay, Cozumel and Costa Maya are also on itineraries.

Also in 2027-28, two ships will sail from Los Angeles: the Ovation and Navigator of the Seas. The Quantum-class Ovation will do three- and four-night cruises, and the Voyager-class Navigator will sail seven-day cruises.

The Oasis of the Seas will be based in New Jersey's Cape Liberty starting in May 2027, sailing seven-night Bahamas cruises. The Odyssey of the Seas will offer seven- to 12-night cruises from New Jersey, beginning November 2027. Itineraries will feature calls in St. Kitts, Barbados and St. Lucia.

In the spring and summer of 2027, the Independence of the Seas also will be based in New Jersey.

The Vision of the Seas will do five- and nine-night cruises from Baltimore.
