The Regal Princess was delayed from departing Galveston due to an oil spill at the Texas port that occurred Oct. 28.

A portion of the Galveston Ship Channel was closed after the spill, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

The ship had been scheduled to depart the port on Oct. 29 but couldn't due to the partial channel closure and because its hull needed to be cleaned of oil, said a Princess spokesperson. The ship's departure was rescheduled for Oct. 30.

The spill's source is secured and the cause is under investigation, the Coast Guard said.

The Carnival Breeze was scheduled to arrive to Galveston on Oct. 30 and docked at Terminal 10 instead of the originally scheduled Terminal 28.
