Carnival Cruise Line will expand the Guy Fieri barbecue
restaurant on the upcoming Carnival Horizon, but the food won't always be free.
Fieri, a star on the Food Network, now has a Guy's Pig &
Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse on four Carnival ships.
The Horizon version will be called Guy's Pig & Anchor
Bar-B-Que Smokehouse/Brewhouse, incorporating the at-sea craft brewery that debuted
on the Carnival Vista last year. Four
beers on the Horizon will be crafted to go with the smoked meats on the menu,
Carnival said. The restaurant for the first time will serve ribs.
The current Fieri barbecue restaurants do not charge extra,
similar to the Guy's Burger Joint restaurants on multiple Carnival ships.
Pricing at the 138-seat Smokehouse/Brewhouse will be a la carte at dinner.
There will also be a free self-service BBQ lunch buffet from noon to 2:30 p.m.
on embarkation day and sea days.
Carnival said the restaurant will be located along the ship's
promenade with indoor and outdoor seating. Its decor will include ceiling tiles
made of weathered galvanized siding, red brick walls, hardwood floors, and
booth and high-top seating with Fieri's signature "Flavortown" catch
phrase illuminating the full-service bar.
The Horizon's maiden voyage is scheduled for April 2.
