This month, Kontiki Expeditions is launching luxury cruises of Ecuador's coast on its new superyacht, the 18-guest Wayra.

Eight-day itineraries bring guests to untouristed areas in Ecuador to explore the indigenous cultures within a context of wellness.

Excursions include a visit to a cocoa farm to learn about chocolate making, a visit to a New Latitude vineyard for a wine tasting, hiking and wildlife spotting in the Pacoche Humid Forest, and swimming in the sulfur lagoon of Agua Blanca.

Programs and excursions are led by 13 crew members and two local experts. Onboard, guests will find wellness professionals, naturalist guides and a local chef who creates farm-to-table and sea-to-table cuisine.

Daily onboard schedules rotate with cooking classes, wellness activities, and chocolate and coffee tastings.

Kontiki is the first cruising member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. The Wayra has a sundeck, salon, two outdoor lounges, a gym and areas for massage and yoga.

Prices start at $7,245 USD per person, based on double occupancy.
