Lindblad Expeditions has expanded its adventure travel offerings with the acquisition of two tour operators, DuVine Cycling + Adventure Co. and Off the Beaten Path, the company announced today.
The expedition cruise operator, which expanded to land tours with its 2016 acquisition of Natural Habitat, said in a press release that it plans to "leverage its experience and resources to accelerate the growth of these unique and profitable businesses and capitalize on the growing demand for authentic and immersive adventure travel."
"These best-in-class companies are also united by a focus on nature and sustainability and will benefit from Lindblad's and Natural Habitat's scale, resources, marketing experience and conservation leadership," the company said.
Founded in 1996 by Andy Levine, DuVine is an international luxury cycling and adventure company based in Somerville, Mass. Levine will retain an ownership interest in DuVine and will continue as CEO of the new subsidiary, Lindblad said.
Off the Beaten Path, based in Bozeman, Mont., offers active small-group and private custom journeys around the world, with a long-standing focus on U.S. national parks. Cory Lawrence will remain as CEO while also retaining an ownership interest in that subsidiary.
