The new wellness-focused itineraries are called Basecamp Channel Islands and will explore the Channel Islands National Park. Lindblad has described the five-day sailings as part safari, part adult camp. They will take place aboard the 62-guest National Geographic Sea Lion.
Much like the first wellness cruises that launched last December in Mexico's Baja region, the new cruises will focus on active adventure, with activities such as walking, hiking, sea kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkeling and bird and wildlife viewing. A certified photo instructor will be onboard.
The three- and four-day Basecamp Channel Islands voyages will depart from the Port of Los Angeles and explore East Anacapa Island, Santa Cruz Island, Rosa Island, San Miguel Island and Santa Catalina Island.
Lindblad's new wellness cruises to California's Channel Islands will include yoga classes, boot camp workouts and stretching.
There will be an Exhale fitness teacher onboard, a spa therapist and/or an Exhale-trained Lindblad wellness specialist who will guide barre and cardio classes, beach boot camp workouts and power yoga classes as well as stand-up paddleboard yoga, mindfulness hikes and assisted stretching. Neck and shoulder massages will be offered prior to evening cocktails, and chill yoga classes will be available in the evening as will group guided meditations.
The snacks, juices and menu options will have a focus on nutrition.
Rates start at $2,490 per person based on double occupancy for the voyages. Departures are scheduled for Oct. 17 and 24.
