MSC Cruises resumes U.S. operations

MSC Cruises has returned to cruising from the U.S. with the MSC Meraviglia departing Miami on a four-night Bahamas cruise on Monday.

The cruise includes a stop at MSC's private destination, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.

The Meraviglia will sail short cruises through Sept. 18, when the 4,475-passenger ship adds seven-night Caribbean cruises.

On Sept. 16, the MSC Divina will return to cruising from the U.S., sailing short Bahamas cruises and seven-night Mexican Caribbean voyages from Port Canaveral, Fla.

MSC is welcoming unvaccinated guests, who must purchase MSC's travel insurance with Covid-19 coverage. They also are subject to additional restrictions, such as Covid testing during the cruise, mandatory face coverings, and the required purchase of an MSC-sponsored excursion to go ashore at port calls. 

MSC said it is doing universal Covid-19 testing at embarkation.
