Princess Cruises said the Majestic Princess, a ship being custom-built
for the Chinese market, will be deployed to Australia for six months in
2018-19.
The ship will sail from Sydney from September 2018 to March
2019 before returning to China. The 3,560-passenger ship will be the largest
ever to sail regularly from Australia, Princess said.
Princess is getting ready to introduce the Majestic Princess
in Shanghai, which had previously been billed as its permanent home port.
Stuart Allison, Princess Cruises' vice president for Australia
& New Zealand, said the deployment of Majestic Princess was a testament to
Australians' love of cruising and the popularity of Princess in the region.
In November, Princess disclosed that the Sapphire Princess,
currently deployed in China, would be sailing in Europe in the latter half of
2018.
