Majestic America Line canceled the April 13 cruise of the Columbia and Snake rivers on the Columbia Queen, a ship that was filling in for the fire-damaged Queen of the West.
Majestic did not explain why the seven-night cruise was canceled.
Several guests scheduled to board the Columbia Queen were accommodated on Majestic's Columbia and Snake rivers cruise on the Empress of the North. Guests who did not cruise will receive a complete refund and a 25% certificate off any seven-night Majestic cruise within the next 12 months, the company said.
The Columbia Queen is on schedule to operate the seven-night Columbia and Snake rivers cruise departing April 20, which was originally scheduled on the Queen of the West.
The Queen of the West is out of commission because of an April 7 fire that started in the engine room, forcing all 124 passengers onboard to evacuate. The fire broke out one day after the Queen of the West had departed from Portland, Ore., for a seven-night roundtrip river cruise. The remainder of the cruise was canceled.
The damage to Queen of the West, a 230-foot paddlewheel ship, is still being assessed, Majestic said.
