NCL takes delivery of Norwegian Jewel

MIAMI -- NCL Corp. took delivery of the Norwegian Jewel from shipbuilder Meyer Werft during a handover ceremony in Eemshaven, the Netherlands.

The Jewel will sail a series of Europe cruises starting Aug. 10 prior to heading to the U.S. in early September. It will cruise from New York before repositioning to Miami, where it will be christened.

The 93,502-ton Jewel is a similar build to Norwegian Cruise Lines Norwegian Dawn and Norwegian Star.
