Norwegian Cruise Line released details of its first cruises
to Cuba, saying inside cabins will start at $699 per person for a four-night cruise.
The cruises aboard Norwegian Sky will overnight in Havana
and include a stop at Norwegian's private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup
Cay.
There will be five cruises in all, each departing on a
Monday in May and returning to Miami on Friday.
Other pricing was set at $749 for an oceanview cabin, $999
for a balcony cabin and $1,699 for a suite.
Like other lines, Norwegian has proposed more sailings after
the end of May but so far no cruises have been authorized beyond that month.
Prices exclude taxes, fees and port expenses, which could
add at least $100 more per person to the cost.
Information about shore excursions in Cuba is not listed on
Norwegian's website. Travel to Cuba is governed by U.S. Treasury Department
guidelines that seek to ensure people-to-people exchanges for Americans
traveling in Cuba.
