The second episode in Norwegian Cruise Line's "Embark" docuseries, airing May 20, focuses on the safety protocols being implemented both onboard and on land.

Titled "Second to None," the episode provides insight into how Norwegian is designing and sourcing PPE for passengers and crew (200,000 masks alone are needed for NCL's restart) and the changes being made to its private island in the Bahamas. It also shows the line's top brass at the tasting of a new menu being unveiled on Le Bistro.

The episode premieres at 8 p.m. ET May 20 at the "Embark" site and on Facebook. It will be available on demand at the "Embark" site, along with the first episode, the "Great Cruise Comeback."

Like the first episode, the second one takes viewers behind the scenes as one of the world's largest cruise lines prepares to return to service after being on a pandemic-induced shutdown for more than a year. The first installment debuted April 15.

Norwegian launched the "Embark" series as a way to engage passengers, travel advisors and team members during the pandemic. The first installment, the "Embark NCL Spotlight" series, aired two productions of popular shows and songs from Norwegian ships. The first was a performance of the line's popular "The Choir of Man" show and the second, "Live From Broadway," included unplugged performances from the Broadway and West End-style productions in residence across the fleet.
