Norwegian Cruise Line has canceled Europe sailings in October and November on the Norwegian Epic and Norwegian Getaway, deciding on an earlier start to the Caribbean season for both ships.

NCL said there's "growing guest demand for Caribbean sailings this fall and winter."

The Epic will now sail Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral from Oct. 30 through March 29. The Getaway will homeport in New Orleans from Oct. 20 through April 6.

The Getaway's Mediterranean and Greek isles cruises from Sept. 29 through and including Nov. 27 have been canceled, as have the Epic's from Oct. 17 through and including Nov. 10.

All guests booked on these sailings will receive an automatic refund plus a future cruise certificate.

"In addition, we understand the inconvenience and frustration this disruption may cause affected guests, so our team is available to assist with identifying alternative sailings similar to their original booking," NCL said.

NCL said the new Caribbean cruises on the Getaway and Epic will open for sale in February.
