A new Elton John-inspired concert will rocket onto the open seas when the Norwegian Luna, the newest ship from Norwegian Cruise Line, sets sail in March.
"Rocket Man: A Celebration of Elton John" will be a tribute concert to the singer, and guests can expect to hear the hits and see archival footage.
Other new mainstage entertainment on the Luna will include a sci-fi themed show, "HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder," and the classic rock-themed "Syd Norman's Presents: A Tribute to the Eagles."
The futuristic HIKO will include acrobatics, 3D mapping and video projection set to an original score. The Eagles show, meanwhile, will be 1970s inspired and follows Norwegian Cruise Line's Fleetwood Mac show, "Syd Norman's Presents: Rumors."
The rock venue onboard, Syd Norman Pour House, will host live band karaoke and a set featuring songs from the 1990s.
For youngsters, the Norwegian Luna will have a new event called "Sea of Discovery! An Under-the-Sea Festival." The hands-on experience is "inspired by nostalgic field-day activities," according to the cruise line.
For adults, the ship will host a Las Vegas-inspired production called "LunaTique" in the comedy show space The Improv at Sea. The party is exclusively for passengers 21 and older and will feature reimagined circus characters and pop music.
The cruise will also feature two deck parties -- "Island Nights" and "Latin Live!" -- and two parties in the theater, Planetdisco and a festival-inspired glow party called the Norwegian Luna Eclipse Party.
The Norwegian Luna will begin sailing from Miami this spring following a maiden transatlantic cruise that departs Civitavecchia, Italy, on March 10. Beginning in April 2027, it will homeport in New York, sailing four- and seven-day Bermuda cruises.
