P&O launches Germany line

NEW YORK -- P&O Princess Cruises launched A'Rosa, a premium cruise line for German vacationers that will begin operations in summer 2002.

The fleet will consist of the 1,590-passenger Crown Princess, currently sailing for sister line Princess Cruises and slated to be renamed A'Rosa Blu, and two river-cruise vessels, A'Rosa Bela and A'Rosa Donna.

A'Rosa will be part of P&O's Seetours brand and will be marketed with the brand's contemporary German-market cruise product, Aida.

P&O Princess will spend $656 million during the next four years to expand its German brands.
