Artemis, a holding company for a portfolio of luxury brands, has completed the acquisition of French luxury expedition line Ponant.

Ponant had been owned for the past three years by Bridgepoint, a European private equity firm.

Artemis is controlled by France’s Pinault family. Its brands include the auction house Christie’s and the French winery Chateau Latour.

Ponant, based in Marseilles, carried nearly 30,000 passengers last year and had sales of $165 million, the company said.
