Princess Cruises announced its next class of ships, the Voyager class, and inked a deal with shipbuilder Fincantieri to construct three ships at its yard in Monfalcone, Italy.

The vessels are slated to be delivered in late 2035, 2038 and 2039. They will be the largest ships in the brand's fleet, Princess said. Each ship will be 183,000 gross tons, accommodating about 4,700 passengers.

Princess said the Voyager ships will have "completely reimagined outer decks, staterooms and Piazza designs." The Piazza is Princess' multi-deck atrium.

Princess president Gus Antorcha said the line aims to "strike the right balance between evolving our proven winners and introducing new concepts and partnerships."

Like the Sphere-class ships Sun Princess and Star Princess, the Voyager-class vessels will operate with dual-fuel technology, with liquefied natural gas as the primary fuel source.

Princess said it would reveal specifics on the ship design and anticipated features and amenities at a later date.
