Princess to send six ships to Alaska in 2003

LOS ANGELES -- All four of Princess Cruises' newest ships will be in Alaska next summer, as the Star Princess, the Diamond Princess, the Coral Princess and the Island Princess join the Sun Princess and the Dawn Princess for the 2003 Alaska season.

The Star Princess and the Diamond Princess, which will debut in June 2003, will sail a new route for the line -- Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan and Victoria, plus a glacier cruise through Tracy Arm and the Sawyer Glaciers -- and both will use Seattle as a home port, a first for Princess.

The new Coral Princess, which debuts in December, and the Island Princess, which will debut in June 2003, will sail Princess' traditional Voyage of the Glaciers route. The cruise sails between Vancouver and Seward, Alaska, calling at Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway, and also includes a voyage through Glacier Bay stopping at College Fjord.

In other news, the Star Princess will leave the West Coast to spend the 2003 winter in Australia, a spokeswoman confirmed.
