Azamara Cruises changed its name to Azamara Club Cruises and will offer more inclusive amenities along with higher prices beginning in April.
Azamara CEO Larry Pimentel and Vice President of Sales and Marketing Edie Bornstein revealed the changes today from New York during a press conference focusing on the line's new strategy.
The executives said that Azamara cruise tickets would include gratuities for the restaurants and housekeeping staff, house wine with lunch and dinner, specialty coffees, soda, and bottled water, and shuttle buses in ports, beginning in April on Azamara's two ships, the Quest and the Journey.
New pricing for those cruises will be effective Dec. 14.
Azamara's new tagline will be "You'll love where we take you," and the itineraries will include more overnights.
"We talked to clients and determined that they loved staying longer," Pimentel said. "We will be slowing down the ships significantly to offer more overnights and longer stays."
Among the locations where the ships will overnight are Istanbul; Sorrento, Italy; two nights in St. Petersburg, Russia; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Bangkok; Singapore; and Hong Kong.
