Tall-ship operator Sea Cloud Cruises said the fleet's third ship will be delivered in 2020.

The Sea Cloud Spirit will carry 136 passengers and will be a working sail vessel. It will be built on the hull of the Sea Cloud Hussar, a ship that was under construction for Sea Cloud but abandoned after Spanish shipyard Factoria Naval de Marin declared bankruptcy in 2010.

The Sea Cloud Spirit will be built at the Metalships & Docks shipyard in Vigo, Spain. The interiors will be outfitted by Partner Ship Design in Hamburg.

The five-deck ship will feature 27 sails covering more than 43,000 square feet. It will have 25 balcony cabins.

Sea Cloud said the Sea Cloud Spirit will be the first sail ship to have an elevator.

The company's first vessel, the Sea Cloud, was built as a private yacht in 1931. The Sea Cloud II entered service in 2001.
