Princess Cruises' second Sphere-class ship will be called the Star Princess and debut in August 2025, sailing an inaugural season of Mediterranean voyages.

Star Princess cruises go on sale on June 1.

Currently under construction in Monfalcone, Italy, at the Fincantieri shipyard, Star Princess will be similar to her sister, Sun Princess.

Both ships will be 175,500 gross tons (20% larger than any of Princess' existing ships) and have capacity for 4,300 guests at double occupancy. The ships will be fueled by liquid natural gas.

Like her sister, the Star Princess also will feature The Dome, an entertainment venue inspired by the terraces of Santorini; a Piazza featuring a glass sphere; the Princess Arena theater; an aft-positioned dining room that will deliver wake views; and entertainment headlined by Cirque Éloize.

The Star Princess' maiden cruise is scheduled to depart Rome (Civitavecchia) on Aug. 4, 2025. The ship will sail a nine-day roundtrip voyage calling in Corfu, Kotor, Mykonos, Santorini and Naples (for Capri and Pompeii).

A variety of 9- and 10-day cruises sailing from Rome, Athens or Venice (Trieste) will follow during the Star Princess' inaugural Med season.

Princess said more details about Star Princess' dining, entertainment and amenities will be shared in the coming months.
