Transcend Cruises, an operator of charter-only sailings, has signed an order for two more ships.

The cruise line intends to operate four ships by 2028 after signing the order with Den Breejen Shipyard in Hardinxveld-Giessendam, Netherlands.

The Connect, the company's first ship, will begin cruising in July. The Transcend Evolve is coming in 2027, reports Cruise Industry News. Last year, Transcend said it had intended to debut both ships in 2026.

The third and fourth ships will be called the Create and Engage. The Create is scheduled for delivery in October 2027, while the Engage is expected to arrive in early 2028.

The ships will have the same design concept as the rest of the fleet, accommodating 120 passengers.

"It is an extremely exciting time for Transcend as we get closer to bringing the first river cruise ship built exclusively for the group market into service this summer," said chief development officer Hans Rood.

Transcend has plans to eventually have up to a dozen ships. National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions has already chartered two of the ships.
