Two Norwegian Cruise Line ships, Norwegian Epic and Pride of America, are getting renovations this month, including additional staterooms plus refreshed activity spaces for children and leisure areas for adults.
The Epic's three-week drydock will conclude May 8, the ship emerging with a new hot tub on deck 18 and an expanded Vibe Beach Club. The expansion replaces Posh Beach Club, bringing Vibe a new hot tub, new private cabanas and more seating. Epic will have a new Aqua Park for children, replacing Splashgolf.
The ship also is getting eight new staterooms.
When the work is done, the Epic will sail Mediterranean and Greek island cruises from Rome, crossing the Atlantic in November to sail Caribbean cruises from San Juan for the winter season.
Pride of America's month-long drydock starts May 3.
The ship is getting a new Starbucks in the Capitol Atrium and pickleball in the sports court.
NCL is moving its youth club and teen club to deck six in the former library, internet café and chapel. There will be a new library and card room in the former Shuffles Card Room.
The ship is also getting 12 new club balcony suites and three new inside staterooms on deck 12.
The Pride of America will return to sailing Hawaii interisland cruises from Honolulu on May 31.
