Windstar Cruises’ Star Pride has returned to service with refurbished
public spaces and staterooms, including a complete renovation of two owner’s suites.
The owner’s suites have a new indoor-outdoor floor plan. An extended
private deck area offers views over the bow of the ship.
All suites on the 212-passenger yacht were furnished with new
coffee tables and new flat-screen TVs. Twelve suites were transformed into
triples with the addition of a sofa bed.
The lounge has new flooring, lighting, sound system and
furniture. The Star Deck expanded by four feet on each side, giving additional
space for guests to relax on deck chairs.
Veranda, the restaurant in the aft of the yacht, has expanded
its outdoor seating to a new courtyard area, complete with a garden wall. The
addition of sliding glass doors and a glass wind screen has opened up a 180-degree
view of the ocean. AmphorA Restaurant,
the main dining room, has a new look, too.

The former card room has been transformed into the Star
Screening Room, a space where guests can watch movies and play video games. And
the fitness center has a new layout and new flooring.
The Star Pride sailed from Athens on June 9 on a seven-day Greek
isles cruise. It will sail throughout the Mediterranean during the summer and cross
the Atlantic in October. After sailing a few Caribbean cruises, it will offer a series
of Costa Rica and Panama Canal voyages into early March.
Windstar parent Xanterra Parks & Resorts spent $4.5
million on the Star Pride renovation, which gives the yacht the same features
as sister vessels Star Breeze and Star Legend. Xanterra said it spent a total of $21.5
million renovating the three yachts over the past two years.
