MIAMI -- The Carnival Valor, Carnival Cruise Lines' next 110,000-ton cruise ship, will operate year-round seven-day Caribbean cruises from this city beginning in December 2004.

The 2,974-passenger Valor, the third in Carnival's Conquest class, will be the largest Carnival vessel based at the Port of Miami.

The route, alternating weekly eastern and western Caribbean cruises with Sunday departures, is currently filled by the Paradise, which will move to the U.S. west coast next fall.

The Valor begins its career with a Christmas cruise departing Dec. 19, 2004, Carnival said.
