Celebrity Cruises' sixth Edge class-ship will be called the Celebrity Xcite.

The cruise line announced the name at the ship's ceremonial steel cutting Oct. 23 at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in France, which officially launches the ship's construction.

Celebrity also took delivery of the Celebrity Xcel, the fifth ship in the class, which will be named Nov. 16 in Fort Lauderdale.

The Celebrity Xcite is scheduled to enter service in 2028.
