LAS VEGAS -- Parrotheads, aka Jimmy Buffett fans, now can bask in
the tropical ambience of the first Margaritaville in the western
U.S.
The facility had its soft opening Dec. 11. Located in the
Flamingo Las Vegas, the eatery and entertainment venue features
live entertainment, two outdoor patios overlooking the Strip, a
Caribbean-themed restaurant, five bars and a 3,000-square-foot
retail store.
The attraction's first floor includes the Volcano Bar, harbor
seating, fishing boats and the Coral Reefer Bar. One of the focal
points of the multilevel attraction is a three-story volcano that
erupts over the bar, spilling margaritas into 300-gallon
blenders.
On the second floor, the Clipper floor, there's indoor and
outdoor seating modeled after the Clipper sea plane. The top floor,
the 12 Volt Level, houses the 12 Volt Bar and features patio
seating.
Throughout the attraction, visitors are treated to a
carnival-like atmosphere complete with stiltwalkers and videos
played on three giant sails flown above the life-size Euphoria
boat.
Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville is open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Sundays through Thursdays and from 11 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. Fridays and
Saturdays.
