Hilton Sao Paulo Morumbi opens in business district

SAO PAULO, Brazil -- The 485-room Hilton Sao Paulo Morumbi opened in South America's largest city and Brazil's major commercial center.

The $90 million hotel, owned and operated by Hilton, occupies the third tower of the Centro Empresarial Nacoes Unidas business complex and represents Hilton International's largest investment in Latin America, where the company now has 12 properties, four of them in Brazil.

Designed with the traveling executive in mind, guest-rooms feature a living area and a work area with dual-line phones and Internet access.

On premises are 80 executive-floor rooms and 16 one- and two-bedroom residential suites, each with a kitchen and a living room.

Other features of interest to the business traveler are the hotel's 13,000 square feet of flexible meetings facilities and a helipad adjacent to the hotel. Located rooftop is the glass-enclosed Livingwell spa and a fitness center.

The hotel brings something a little different to the table in its three new restaurants, including the art-themed Canvas, designed to replicate a working art studio, with huge works of art on stretched canvases suspended from 45-foot ceilings.

Other dining areas are the Sol & Sombra, with interior and terrace dining space for breakfast and light meals, and the Caffe Cino, which serves breads, sandwiches, empanadas and pastries to accompany a variety of Brazilian coffees.

Through Feb. 23, the Hilton Sao Paulo Morumbi is offering an introductory rate of $159 per night, single or double, plus taxes.
