LOS ANGELES -- A $12 million renovation is under way at the Westin
Bonaventure Hotel & Suites downtown here.
The upgrade to the 1,354-room property, which was bought by
Taiwan-based Today's Hotel Corp., will affect areas ranging from
guest rooms to public spaces.
At the same time, some of the work will be aimed at bringing the
property into compliance with terms of the Americans With
Disabilities Act.
Phase 1 of the project is completed: The Bona Vista Lounge and
Top of Five Restaurant, perched on the top two floors, with
panoramic views of the city, have been redone.
Upholstered booths, high-tech glass lighting and modern art on
the walls are among the highlights.
Also, a new elevator connects the lounge and restaurant.
In addition, the Top of Five now features a bar and private
dining room, and a new, eclectic menu reflects culinary influences
from Latin America, Asia and Europe.
An upgrade of the guest rooms is in progress. Later phases will
bring the Sidewalk Cafe, the lobby and the pool and other outdoor
areas up to par.
