Free hotel WiFi has been on our wish list for longer than we care to admit, so we are pleased that Hyatt presented a year-end holiday gift to the world by announcing late last month that, come February, it would offer free WiFi in guestrooms and public areas to all guests at all Hyatt hotels, regardless of their room category or loyalty plan status.
Hyatt said Internet connectivity has become "a basic expectation" rather than an amenity, and we agree. Let's hope that 2015 is the year that the rest of the industry sees the light.
