London's Heathrow Airport launched an augmented reality app for children, aimed at the 35,000 or so families departing through the airport this summer.
The Around the World With Mr. Adventure app entertains children as they navigate through Heathrow's terminals and is available on any digital device via Heathrow's free WiFi. Kids using the app help the characters find hidden badges in the airport and are rewarded with 3-D, animated video of themselves with the characters.
In addition, the app characters will be on hand live in the airport through Sept. 10 to help children find the badges and to host themed craft activities and workshops, hand out treats and direct young travelers to free play areas.
The app is available to download at the App Store and on Google Play.
