Belmond is poised to reopen global operations, starting with several properties in Italy, the U.K. and the U.S. on June 19.
The Belmond Hotel Cipriani in Venice and the Belmond Hotel Splendido in Portofino, Italy, will be the first to reopen, on June 19, followed in the U.S. by the Belmond Charleston Place on June 25. The Belmond Hotel Caruso in Ravello, Italy, and the Belmond Grand Hotel Timeo in Taormina, Sicily, will reopen July 1. London's Belmond Cadogan Hotel will reopen July 4, and the Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons in Oxfordshire, England, is set to reopen on July 14.
The company's Venice Simplon-Orient-Express luxury rail service will resume on July 8.
Belmond, which is following guidance from local governments and world health authorities, is implementing new safety protocols across its 46 hotels, trains, river cruises and safari lodges.
In addition, Belmond unveiled an augmented reality filter called Travel Dreams on Instagram for a virtual exploration of the Belmond collection.
To inspire would-be visitors to book, the company is also offering a Tomorrow Time Travel Pass, a travel voucher with no expiration date that can be used across the collection. The way it works is that travelers receive a bonus $100 voucher when they purchase a $500 gift card or a $200 voucher when spending more than $1,000.
