The Brown Acropol, Athens, set to open this April, will be the first of five new hotels by Tel Aviv-based Brown Hotels planned for Athens.
Formerly the Acropol, run by Classical Hotels (now Grecotel), the 165-room, four-star property will be located near the city's central market and will feature an all-day restaurant, spa and gym on the top floor and a sky bar with panoramic views of the Acropolis.
The property, originally built in 1976 by Greek architect Emmanouil Vourekas as an example of Greek modernism, is being renovated by Dimitris Karabatakis of K Studios.
Interior design elements will include a blend of midcentury and vintage pieces, along with fittings and furnishings made from oak, Greek marble, concrete and aluminum.
