The 147-room Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa, located next to San Anton Palace on Malta, is poised to open the Athenaeum Spa in October.
The opening of the spa marks the final phase of an extensive refurbishment of the property, which began last year and has so far transformed the executive lounge, lobby and guestrooms.
The Athenaeum Spa is being created by interior designers Goddard Littlefair, who also designed the Konopiste ESPA Spa in Prague, Gleneagles in Scotland and Portland House in London.
In partnership with skincare brand ESPA, the spa will join the other ESPA spas across the Corinthia portfolio: the flagship ESPA Life at the Corinthia London; the Royal Spa at the Corinthia Budapest; and the Spa at the Corinthia Lisbon.
Facilities will include a sauna, steam room, experience showers and heated beds, which look out onto a garden filled with citrus, herbs and lavender.
The Athenaeum Spa will be situated within the hotel's pool garden area and will also feature an indoor swimming pool with Jacuzzi, seven treatment rooms, relaxation lounge and terrace, and a gym and studio.
Other spa features include an indoor/outdoor vitality pool, a plunge pool with a relaxation deck and a pergola.
