Katarina Line, a small ship cruise specialist and destination management company in Croatia, is launching a drive to attract more travel agents in North America.
The company is increasing its promotional campaigns and attending travel trade shows throughout the U.S., including the USTOA Annual Conference in Arizona in December. Travel agents account for more than 95% of Katarina bookings, and it pays commissions up to 20%.
In all, the line represents more than 50 ships in four sizes and categories, serving approximately 30,000 passengers a year. Guaranteed weekly departures leave Opatija, Split and Dubrovnik, and the company has added new, deluxe cruises in response to a growing demand from the U.S. and Canadian markets for a more luxurious cruise experience on the Croatian coast.
Vessels range from the new 38-passenger MV Infinity to the more traditional gullets two-masted and three-masted wooden sailing vessels that hold from eight to fourteen people. All ships feature air conditioning and Wi-Fi.
Cruises can be combined with land programs, which also offer guaranteed departures
