Milan will host the 38th International LGBTQ+ Travel Association (IGLTA) in October 2022, marking the first time Italy has hosted the event.

"The IGLTA convention brings together LGBTQ+ welcoming travel suppliers, buyers and media," said Caterina Orlando, manager for the U.S. and Mexico of the Italian National Tourism Board (ENIT).

"Not only does this support business, but it also promotes diversity and equality in travel, values that ENIT fully supports," Orlando said.

The event was originally scheduled for May 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic.
