NH Hotel Group opened its first five-star hotel in Denmark, located in a historical, sustainable building in the Christianshavn district.

The NH Collection Copenhagen, which overlooks the harbor, features 394 rooms and suites, two restaurants, a hotel bar, a lounge area, seven flexible rooms for small-to-large-scale meetings for up to 252, parking, fitness facilities and direct access to the waterfront.

The building's facade was renovated and redeveloped by ATP Ejendomme, Arkitema Architects and Henning Larsen Architects, with respect for architect Palle Suenson's original design from 1962.

The interior, which was designed by Swedish design firm Krook & Tjader and the Spanish interior and architecture studio TBC, is dominated by large-scale artwork by Danish artist Anna Bak. The art is made of wood and brass and refers to the building's maritime history as a former administration building for the B&W shipyard.
