Switzerland's Beau-Rivage Palace marked its June 12 reopening with the debut of its Cinq Mondes spa.

Spread over 16,000 square feet, the spa features nine treatment rooms, a fitness room, a yoga studio, two heated pools and a restaurant, all overlooking Lake Geneva.

The Lausanne hotel commissioned Alexandre Pierart of the Paris-based Suprem Architectures for the spa's design.

The product of an eight-month renovation, the spa is the first phase of a new Wellness Experience program created by Nathalie Seiler-Hayez, the hotel's managing director. Subsequent phases will be introduced throughout the hotel in the following months.

The Beau-Rivage Palace is located on 10 acres of private, lakeside gardens and features five restaurants and bars.

Activities planned for the coming months include tennis and yoga classes, rides on the Montreux steamboat, children's activities and pastry and floral workshops.
