VisitBritain appoints exec to marketing position for the Americas

VisitBritain, the U.K.'s national tourism agency, has named Paul Gauger its interim executive vice president for the Americas, a new position.

Gauger will oversee consumer and B2B marketing strategies to increase outbound tourism in the Americas, including Brazil and other emerging Latin American markets.

Gauger joined VisitBritain in 2003, serving in a variety of positions, including communications director for the Americas. He most recently held the position of global head of public relations.

"Paul brings a wealth of market knowledge and experience to the role that will be a real asset in building brand awareness," said VisitBritain CEO Sally Balcombe.
