Music lovers will have a new venue to enjoy top-notch, live performances on Oahu next year as the Blue Note Hawaii is slated to open in the spring of 2016 at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort.
A multimillion-dollar renovation is planned for the former Society of Seven Showroom in the Outrigger Waikiki, where officials are creating a 9,000-square-foot facility designed to host nightly live performances featuring jazz, blues and Hawaiian musicians.

The partnership between Outrigger Enterprise Group and Blue Note Entertainment Group, which currently runs clubs in New York, Milan and Tokyo, aims to bring high-end talent to Oahu while also showcasing many of its homegrown stars.
“What makes Blue Note Hawaii unique is the variety of music genres it will offer, specifically Hawaiian music as often as once a week,” said Barbara Campbell, Outrigger’s vice president of retail leasing and property management. “No other Blue Note offers Hawaiian music.”
Outrigger plans to launch a campaign of performance and room package specials after the new venue opens, partnering with its network of travel partners not only in the U.S. but also Australia, Japan and South Korea.
Meanwhile, the Blue Note Hawaii venue will be joined by the launch of a new Blue Note music club in Beijing in 2016, followed by openings in Shanghai and Taipei in coming years.
