Location and History
Estancia VIK is out in the rolling countryside, 7 miles inland from Jose Ignacio, a 15-minute drive. It's equal distance to the beaches, VIK Playa and VIK Bahia.
Estancia VIK is the very first VIK hotel, created and run by the wealthy American Vik family. In the early 2000s, on a visit to their Uruguayan mother, the four Vik brothers fell in love with the area. They built a large hacienda-style home on a vast property, where they lived for a few years before renovating the home into a luxury retreat, opened in 2009.
