Romantik Hotel Wilden Mann is affiliated with the Metropole in Interlaken, though this charming traditional inn is the very opposite of its modern high-rise sibling.
Amazingly, Wilden Mann and its on-site restaurant are more than 500 years old. Dating from 1517, it started as a pub. Today, it is a fusion of seven 16th-century houses connected by a maze of hallways and elevators and tucked away from most of the action.
The name Wilden Mann is a reference to ancient bones of a giant creature uncovered centuries ago.
